German industrial metallers RAMMSTEIN have set a June 14 release date for their new single, entitled "Mein Teil". "Mein Teil" comes off the group's long-awaited follow-up to 2001's "Mutter", tentatively due this summer.

As previously reported, the recording sessions for the new RAMMSTEIN album took place in Spain while additional recordings were made in a session with strings and a choir in Berlin. That's funny. I didn't realize it but I already pre-ordered The Star Wars Trilogy.
I will definitely have to preview the album.

Yeah I figured the archiving would work better if it were by month. I didn't like the page long archive list on the right hand side. (Possibly have to go by year in another 10 months or so)

Tuesday, April 27, 2004

Anyone need more death metal in their lives? If so, you want this album.

BTW, love the archive being by month now. Much better.
Sure you were told!!
I told you! ;-)

I bought it full price when it first came out... :-( I'll just have to buy it again... well, you all know how adverse I am to spending money on DVD.... :-D
No-one told me about the unrated extended edition of Underworld? I just friggin bought it. Luckily it was $10 previewed. So I'll not feel to bad either selling it to someone / giving it to someone / whatever and then buying the extended edition.
I have updated the Portal Page:

Enhancements -

  • Added a All Music Guide search by Artist button

  • Updated the search form so it defaults to Google if you hit enter

  • Added 2 new shopping items - both for DVD's

Late! oh, here is the LINK
Wow is NASA playing that wrong!!! This is why they need to privatize this stuff and put me in charge! I would have a movie dept that wrote movies like this to fund my trips to space, and my research into better fuel cell vehicles etc... I don't understand!
Other DVD notables...
Nostalgia: May 11, The Jetsons, season 1. :-D
Um, other stuff: May 25: Unrated Extended edition of Underworld.
Good Info:

  • Predator Collectors Edition coming out 07/20/04. Includes 5.1 Audio + specials

KITTIE Announce New Second Guitarist - Apr. 26, 2004

Canadian metallers KITTIE have recruited guitarist Lisa Marx, formerly of the Seattle hardcore band TO SEE YOU BROKEN, to join the group permanently as a second guitarist.

"Lisa brings a wide-eyed excitement that really shows this is all she has ever wanted to do," said vocalist/guitarist Morgan Lander. "She has been playing piano and guitar for years, and has tons of touring experience. She 's the kind of person who isn't going to back down or quit."

KITTIE began the huge undertaking of finding a guitar player while working on their latest album, "Until the End". Marx, who the girls had met at a Seattle-area KITTIE show, immediately came to mind. She was invited, along with a handful of other male and female prospects, to the recording studio and the band's hometown to jam.

"We were looking for someone really solid and with something to offer, someone who could hear something and play it right off the bat," said bassist Jennifer Arroyo. "I knew she was the one because she was very down to earth, friendly, and was a really solid player."

"We are all on the same page when it comes to everything, and that really drew me to her," Lander said. "Not to mention her guitar playing and her ability to learn things very quickly. She pretty much learned half the album in a few hours!"

KITTIE have been rehearsing with Marx in preparation for a tour in support of "Until the End". "So far, being in the band is so amazing," Marx said. "I'm really excited I've been given this opportunity, and can't wait to rock the world!"

Marx replaces Jeff Phillips, the band's former guitar tech turned tour guitarist, who is concentrating on his own band, THINE EYES BLEED. "Jeff helped us out at a time when we had no one else to turn to," Lander said. "Over the years, Jeff has become like a brother to all of us, and we have all grown up together both musically and personally. We wish him all the best of luck with his new endeavors, as he is a great person and an amazing and talented guitar player."

"Until the End" is scheduled for a summer release on Artemis Records.

You freaking rule dude!
I am so impressed with your godly internet powers!
And the new site with blogging ability is LIVE!
Just so you all know... If on the main page of the Blogger site, you get offered an account for gmail, sign up! This is googles new email service, which outsiders still cannot sign up for. You get 1000 MB of storage, and you can basicly google the contents of your mailbox searching for emails. They seem to be offering it to "active" bloggers, like eric and scott... I'm not cool enough yet, but am aspiring to be...

Gmail rules! (ok, so I've been really sick for the last week, so I take no responsibilty for bizarre posts I may make)

Oh, now see... I was hoping it wasn't going to go there.

It is actually a little disturbing to see how young Garner looks when she's acting 13...

On another note, New Japanese movie coming over.. Zatoichi the Blind Samurai. I saw a preview for it last night (While watching Robot Stories). It'll probably only show up in indie houses, but it looks good. http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/ZatoichitheBlindSamurai-1024426/preview.php

Elektra -2005 baby.. that's what I'm waiting for.
I can't remember Kataklysm's style, you'll have to demo for me.

Do we have good news? Is DragonForce in yet?

Alright here is a good poll:
Who wants to see 13 going on 30 (Jennifer Garner): Raise your hands.

Hellboy was awesome. A great geek film. A lot of fun, tons of action and some cool magical happenings.
My apologies for having disappeared from here. I have been completely taken up at work. With the changes in management I haven't had nearly enough time to get everything done.

I am seriously interested in this Blind Guardian DVD, it sounds awesome.

We are hopefully going to see Hellboy this afternoon.. I'll post a review if we get to see it.

TOOL Drummer: New Album Will Be Heavier Than 'Lateralus' - Apr. 8, 2004

TOOL drummer Danny Carey, guitarist Adam Jones and bassist Justin Chancellor have been jamming together for the past few months and they've already got the framework for 10 to 12 new songs, according to MTV.com.

"They're very much in the infant stage, where we have all these different jams and we start piecing them together," Carey told MTV.com. "There are no true arrangements yet. We like to develop ideas, but we don't want to solidify anything too much until [singer] Maynard [James Keenan] gets involved."

Although it's too early to get an overall read on the new songs, Carey described the material as heavier and more intense than the group's last disc, 2001's "Lateralus".

"There seems to be a little more brute force going on in the music, rather than being lighter and more intricate like some of the stuff on the last record," Carey said. "It still has quirky time changes, but so far we've been working on really heavy stuff."

Carey attributes the more aggressive vibe of the new material to TOOL's tours with such experimental bands as FANTÔMAS (featuring former FAITH NO MORE singer Mike Patton and SLAYER drummer Dave Lombardo) and Sweden's MESHUGGAH.

"Mike Patton and Dave Lombardo — those guys are a good, heavy influence," Carey said. "And we did most of the dates on our last tour with MESHUGGAH. They're incredibly heavy, so it was a good kick in the teeth playing with them."

The as-yet-untitled effort is tentatively expected in early 2005. Plans also exist for the group to issue a DVD of footage from the "Lateralus" tour this summer.

A review of the new album by Nocturnal Rites, called "New World Messiah," was posted on Digital Metal.

Sunday, April 04, 2004

Throes Of Dawn have finished their studio sessions at Sonic Pump Studios. The new album, titled "Quicksilver Clouds" will be released in May 2004.
New Angra Album announced...this is from their website:

Just as much as its predecessor, Rebirth, the new album is a conceptual one. It tells a very interesting history developed by guitar player Rafael Bittencourt. The writing is extremely well done and the lyrics of each song are tightly connected to the others. Besides that, Angra saved a few surprises for their fans: special guests will be on this album, such as the brazilian musician Milton Nascimento, Kai Hansen (Gamma Ray), Hansi Kürsch (Blind Guardian), Douglas Las Casas, Silvia Goes and others.

This album’s quality is easily noticed and the emotions are easily understood. To be out in the middle of this year, the album will be certainly one the greatest releases of 2004! What can be said about this record? Sophisticated, surprising, innovative and the most important thing: it will be Angra’s heaviest album ever!
Stay tuned!!!

Rhapsody will be releasing a mini-album called "The Dark Secret" within the month of April, and will follow it up with a new full length album in September. The full length album is still untitled.
